Because Slytherin-ey Goodness Makes It All Better

Chi: *Watching me sew* So you finished your Harry Potter lolita design then?
Chi:'re just making it up as you go along.
Me: Yeeees.
Chi: Lol.  That works too.

I think this will call for a specifically-made petticoat to ensure maximum and even poofage.  And I foresee this skirt taking much more time than I'm assuming it'll take, as I've already spent a good 6 hours on it total (sewing pleat-thingies at the waist and pleating the ruffles), and it doesn't even have shirring or a zipper yet.

Don't mind the janky Slytherin emblem; that's a reject shirt patch I made years ago while trying to figure out how to use printable fabric correctly.  I just wanted to get an idea of how it will kinda look when it's all done...

Oh Thank God

First off, a friend found this on Myspace:

Dude.  I don't have a Myspace.  How many other websites that I don't frequent have pictures of me?  Hmm, something to ponder in the night.

Now to the point.

The salon pulled through for me in the end, and I start part-time on the 26th until the schools let out and I can work full-time.  Guaranteed $250 a week, and he's trying to bump me up to $300.  It's not a career; heck, it's not even much better than the cafe job, but it's SOMETHING, and that's all I need right now.  I can use the salon job to pay my bills, and still work once a week at the cafe to get spending money.  If I end up working at the Shakespeare Festival, then that's at least $100 extra a week for about a month.

Basically, for the month of May, I'm stockpiling my monies.  Then when all I have is basically the salon job during the summer, I'll have enough saved up to feel financially comfortable (-ish...considering) until the school year starts back up and I can work for the after-school program again.

Thank you, Jesus, hallelujah.

Now I just have to find a new apartment, rearange my cafe work schedule, get confirmation on the Festival, finish out the rest of the school year, Confirm the trip to Disney World, and renew my 6 month health insurance.
